Azerbaijan ratified the Statute of the International renewable energy Agency

    




According to the Vice-speaker of the Parliament Valeh Aleskerov, Azerbaijan is determined to achieve a breakthrough in the field of renewable energy
Ratification of the Charter of the International renewable energy Agency needs to help Azerbaijan to reduce its dependence on hydrocarbons, which will ensure climate stability and sustainable economic growth, creation of new jobs.

Also the position involves the provision of energy in remote villages by using renewable sources of energy, to Azerbaijan today," said Aleskerov.

Note that the International Agency for renewable energy brings together 130 countries in the world. Before that, Azerbaijan was among 38 candidates who will become members of the Agency.

IRENA Statute, adopted on 26 January 2009, clearly defines the term "renewable energy" as all forms of energy, constantly generated from renewable sources. Sami renewables include bioenergy; geothermal energy; hydropower; ocean energy, including without limitation, energy of the tides, wave energy and thermal ocean energy; solar energy; wind energy.

The Agency operates on the basis of annual work programs prepared by the Secretariat reviewed by the Board and approved by the Assembly. The Agency in addition to its work programmes, after consultation with its members and, in case of divergence of opinion, after approval by the Assembly, implement projects proposed and funded by the members, subject to the availability of intangible resources of the Agency.
