Israel and Austria have established an environmental cooperation Bashny.Net

The agreement applies not only to issues of environmental protection, but also in the field of waste management and environmental technology.

During the meeting, the Minister of environmental protection of Israel, Amir Peretz, Perets, invited Austria to participate in regional projects with Israel and its neighbours. Among these projects is the rehabilitation of the Jordan river.

Still, there was no formal cooperation on environmental issues between Israeli and Austrian ministries of environment.

The main questions raised by the parties is a joint effort in overcoming the effects of climate change.

Before Israel signed a preliminary Declaration with the Greek and Cypriot colleagues in the field of prevention of pollution of the Mediterranean sea.

The second agreement will probably be signed in June, and is expected to strengthen the cooperation in the Mediterranean environmental problems.
