The luxury of Iranian melia flowering

This year, luxurious Iranian melia blooms unusually magnificently in the Paradise Garden of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, which we have already talked about on the pages of the website here. This deciduous spreading tree with a height of 10-15 m, growing naturally in the mountainous regions of South Asia, is now all shrouded in a delicate pink halo of flowering.

Back in the XVI century. melia was introduced (introduced into culture) and today it is found everywhere along the tropical and subtropical zones.

Beautiful its double-feathered leaves, creating an openwork crown. Gentle are its light pink flowers, up to 2 cm in diameter with a stamina tube sticking upwards, exuding a strong honey aroma.

In the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, it bears fruit and sows itself.
