10 places on the planet that are deprived of mobile communication
Kifuka, Democratic Republic of the Congo
In the twenty-first century, it would seem that mobile communication should be everywhere, but, as practice shows, in some places this is simply impossible. And this is not about a room in your house, but about the remote corners of our planet.
We offer you a selection of 10 places where you can not make a phone call.
1. Kifuka, Democratic Republic of Congo Kifuka is one of the most dangerous places in the world. According to statistics, one square kilometer gets 158 lightning strikes per year. Therefore, using any electronic device can be equated with suicide.
2. Green Bank, USA, West Virginia
Green Bank is the city where the largest telescope is located (its task is to receive weak signals from space). Therefore, it is forbidden to use any device with electromagnetic radiation. This list includes mobile communications, Wi-Fi network and even radios.
3. Motuo, China
The Motuo region is located in Tibet and is considered sacred by local Buddhists. Getting there is very difficult, a 200-meter suspension bridge and permafrost (you still need to figure out which is worse) will get in your way. The area is completely uninhabited (all because of this bridge, for sure, I know), so the fauna here is very unusual.
4. Mooley, Faroe Islands
Here the most unpredictable weather, the resources necessary for life, almost no. It doesn’t bother those 4 locals though. Tourism is not very common here, so Muli can safely be called “God Forgotten Place”. We are not even talking about any communication.
5. Pitcairn Island, Pacific Ocean
The population of Pitcairn Island is only 50 people. There is no mobile phone, internet or anything else related to civilization. Contact with the outside world is maintained only by a ship that visits the island once a month.
6. Station "Akademik Vernadsky", Galindez Island, Antarctica
I think you know that Akademik Vernadsky station is the only Ukrainian station in Antarctica. Communication with the outside world is carried out only by satellite, and the Internet speed is not always enough even to send an email.
7. Wayau Laut, Philippines
The locals have been nicknamed “sea gypsies” because they spend most of their lives in floating houses and very rarely set foot on shore. Vayau Laut is on the list of places unsuitable for living. There is no drinking water or electricity, and communication with the “big” world is very rare.
8. Socotra Island, Indian Ocean
The coolness of the island lies in the fact that it is completely isolated from the outside world (often called “an alien place on Earth”), so you can find very unusual plants here. Socotra is home to about 42 thousand local residents, despite such a number, there are no benefits of civilization (mobile communication or the Internet).
9. Oymyakon, Yakutia
The village of Oymyakon is the coldest inhabited place on the planet (the temperature was -71 ° C). In such conditions, almost everything freezes, not to mention a mobile phone that simply cannot work at this temperature. Communication with the outside world is very rare, the planes arrive only in the summer (and then once a week).
10. Gorai, India
Gorai is a village where the whole way of life is based on meditation. Therefore, with phones, tablets and other gadgets, you will not even be allowed here. In Gorai, you should strictly follow the established daily routine (nothing difficult - sleep, eat, rest, meditate). So, since phones are not used here, then there is also no mobile connection.
Not everything is as bad as it seems at first glance, because in such places you can really relax from all the benefits of civilization, only the lightning of Kifuk and the frost of Oymyakon is best avoided.
