Innovative power plant on the border with Bolivia

Enel Green Power is building an innovative power plant in Chile on the border with Bolivia

It will combine several possibilities of renewable energy: it will have photovoltaic panels, a wind mini-turbogenerator and a combined generation system for electricity and hot water for a school in the village of Ollague. The expected installed capacity of the plant will be 232 kW, and the output will be about 460 MWh per year, which corresponds to the consumption level of 150 households.

The station will not be included in the national power grid, but will be equipped with an electrochemical energy storage system with a capacity of 520 kWh. This capacity is almost an annual need for electricity in the village.

The capacity of this system will be enough to cover the technological needs of the dedicated network. This power plant will allow residents of the village to use electricity around the clock.
