Scientists have created a jetpack for soldiers

University of Arizona engineers have developed a prototype jetpack for soldiers.

According to the idea of the creators, a unique device is attached to the back of a fighter and helps him run faster on the battlefield. Student Jason Kerestes and Professor Thomas Sugar are collaborating with DARPA, which commissioned engineers to develop a device to speed up soldiers. At the moment, five kilogram machine allows you to reduce personal records of runners. So, if earlier the athlete ran a mile in 5 minutes 20 seconds, then with the new technology, this time was reduced by 18 seconds.

In addition to increasing speed, runners spend less energy to overcome the distance. Kerestes said, “In war, it is the difference between life and death.” The devices will help soldiers succeed in their mission and save lives.”
