Mysterious social network Ello is experiencing an explosion of popularity

Network Ello was launched earlier this year, and it seemed like her waiting for oblivion, as well as thousands of others like her. However, this mysterious social network is experiencing a sudden surge in popularity after Facebook was to get rid of using the aliases of artists, musicians and members of the LGBTQ person at work community.

After the official opening in July, Ello has created just a few accounts. But over time, the number of users began to grow, and has increased every day two, and then three times. The developers of this network claim that at the moment it is registered 4,000 new accounts per hour. This load is virtually paralyzed the network, but the developers try to maintain its performance. Along with the usual users in Ello also started to create multiple profiles brands.

So what is Ello? Ello is an anachronistic social network with its own Manifesto – a grandiose call for communication in the network, and against social media, seeking to manipulate people and treat them like products.

The interface of this network looks like a mix of Tumblr and Facebook, only more "smooth" and "clean". Panel and buttons are so modest that they are hardly noticeable on the white pages.

When you add friends you can move them into one of two categories: "Friends" ("Friends") and "Noise" ("Noise"). The upgrade in category of Friends are displayed in easily readable, large format, similar to the news feed in Facebook, while the updates in the section Noise is represented by a cascade of small, similar to archival records.

"When the social network works for the benefit of the advertiser, the advertiser and becomes a real consumer," says Paul of Bednets, the developer of Ello, and the Creator of designer toys, bikes and extraordinary things – "It goes against the very essence of social networking. For example, when you download network your drawing or something written or created by you, and next to it there is advertising underwear."

Initially, Ello was created as a private network for a group of artists and designers, led by Paul of Bednets, but now she was starting to outgrow its art-house beginning. Recent activity Facebook for closure profiles which use untrusted names or aliases, struck not only by trolls and spanim accounts, but also for people who want to hide their identity for the purposes of self-expression or self-defense. This has given Ello a completely new target audience.

Ello began to form a small community before Facebook was to get rid of users. The fictional personality of Facebook users may badly affect the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, while Ello does not advertise, and therefore has no reason to expel its users. The developers claim that in the future, Ello will remain ad-free.
