The plant as an advantage for BREEAM
During the reconstruction of playgrounds in London's king's Cross architectural firm Bennetts Associates have designed and company Kier Construction built a new public building. On the area of 2000 square metres over 14 floors will house a leisure centre, library, part of the Council of Camden and office space and the building's claim to a rating level BREEAM "outstanding".
The building has a green roof with specially selected vegetation. Solar panels are placed not only above, but also on special tabs (solarfins). Lightproof louver with bronzing reflect excess light, preventing overheating of the premises; the same purpose is the use of thermal mass.
Curiously, one of the advantages of the project is to use a heating plant for hot water and heating in the cold period.
