Top 10 Eco-Films (Video)
Man masters nature without learning to master himself. ©A. Schweitzer
Man, exploiting nature as a workshop, has only recently begun to realize that the best way to master nature is to obey it, not to subdue it. I realized, but isn't it too late? Shocking environmental disasters have already occurred, the quality and life expectancy have already fallen, forests have been cut down and fields have been burned. But life goes on. And we can make it, if not better, then at least not worse. It's just a matter of thinking first. And especially for this we offer you a selection of beautiful, exciting, motivating and the most “natural” films shot in our “plastic” world.
TOP is built in random order and each of the presented tapes is worthy of a leading position.
This movie has no gender, no nationality, no age, no social status, because it’s for everyone. It's about our common home. Earth.
Good viewing and inspiration!
1. "Beautiful Green"
http://vk.com/video_ext.php?oid=-68315013&id=168335294&hash=629382bb21c10d3e&hd=1
Directed by Colin Serro
An easy comedy for family viewing with a deep meaning about a different, non-human, familiar worldview. How do people from other planets perceive the Earth and its inhabitants? You will realize how many absurdities and conventions there are in our world!
The film is recommended for viewing for those who often use phrases such as “I don’t have time”, “not now”, “a lot of work, need money”.
The film is unofficially banned in Europe.
Episode:
“I am very sorry! In the world, four out of five children die of hunger, and thousands hide in basements from bombs. And how many people are rotting in hospitals from cancer and AIDS. There are women who have been raped by twenty-five men at the same time, and there is you, you, with whom a terrible thing has happened - someone touched the mirror of your car!
Are there trees around you with beautiful green leaves, have you ever looked at them?
And there's a beautiful woman who loses her youth in the kitchen by making you mushrooms in sour cream while you cheat on her. Have you ever looked at your wife?
You have kids! Are you even grateful you have them?
And then there's the cow that gives you milk, butter and cheese every day! Did you ever say thank you to the cows?
Your life is beautiful! It's a beautiful dream! Look at her!
The only problem is that someone touched your mirror. That's terrible! Terrible!
2. "Home." A date with the planet"
http://vk.com/video_ext.php?oid=1869087&id=166651947&hash=ca5d452a5644b873&hd=1
Directed by Jan Artus Bertrand
Produced by Luke Besson
We are shown the beauty of the planet and the consequences of human destruction. The non-healing scars inflicted on the Earth by industrial production, the consequences of wars, environmental disasters, reveal the real situation on the planet. Particularly impressive is the large-scale shooting from a high altitude. Beautiful, exciting – and I can’t believe that our planet still has “oases” of wildlife.
3. "Zero impact"
http://vk.com/video_ext.php?oid=-49560567&id=170069718&hash=d6ad01d5778660d0&hd=1
Directed by Laura Gabbert, Justin Shine
The film is about the experiment of writer and Internet blogger Colin Beavan. For a whole year, he and his family in New York lived green in their apartment, eager to break out of the consumer society and, more importantly, tried not to affect the environment. Interesting, humorous and touching about the relationship with family and the world.
Episodes:
• Until you try, you won't know.
• Not so much consuming min as finding a way to gain comfort in a "sustainable" way
• I am often asked: what is the hardest thing? I'm saying it's something else, asking the question: What's the best thing about green life? Life without garbage, without TV, with healthy food and close relationships with relatives
• The purpose of individual action is to involve people
• The most radical political gesture is to be optimistic. I believe that if you change, many people will follow you.
4. History of things
Directed by Louis Fox
Have you ever wondered how many things we buy? How much junk is in the closets? How much are we throwing away labor-intensive and resource-intensive goods? Why - to buy new ones.
In her 20-minute animated documentary, Annie Leonard talks about the main stages of the life cycle model of consumer things: the procurement of materials, the production of goods, their sale, consumption and disposal. The “dark sides” of this model are well illuminated and their connections with each other and their impact on man, society and our planet as a whole are told, for what purpose the scheme of infinite consumption is launched, what price these goods are produced and why we, so developed and conscious, continue to drown in this garbage.
The main thing is that there are no complex, knowledge-intensive terms. Watch alone or better with friends - after watching the discussion will arise on its own.
5. "Human ecological footprint"
http: vk.com/video_ext.php?oid=-25867865&id=168089259&hash=8fd8bf2faf0bf526&hd=1
Directed by Nick Watts.
The film was produced by National Geographic.
Imagine being able to see everything you used. How many cups of tea did you drink, how many tones of feces did you drop, how many words did you say, how many tears did you shed? By the end of the film, you will be able to see life unfolding before you for the first time. It's a story about my life, your life, everyone's life. This is the story of your ecological footprint.
6. Plastic bag
Directed by Ramin Bahrani
The most serious is best conveyed through laughter, allegory, so that it is not so painfully painful and scary to realize what is happening in the world. Every day. Every hour. Right now, this second.
It seems the plot is simple – a plastic bag goes in search of the one who once breathed life into it, which was everything to him, but was able to lose it. A short journey and search are doomed in advance, where not plastic thoughts are revealed.
Episode:
“I only regret one thing: that I was not made mortal. . . ?
7. Earth 2100
http://vk.com/video_ext.php?oid=-18951849&id=162610662&hash=693aa6861bee19ae&hd=1
Directed by Bob Woodrof
Beautiful eco-documentary film. The plot is the story of the fate of a girl-girl-woman, the same age as the XXI century. It simulates all the difficulties that a person will have to go through if he does not stop destroying the climate - visually, emotionally, at the same time - almost real and from this - sad.
8. Ecopolis (EcoGrad, 2008, Discovery Science)
http://vk.com/video_ext.php?oid=-57311523&id=168894852&hash=451fc326620459ec&hd=1
Fans of new technologies will love EcoPolis – the film tells about the innovations of the most ecological cities in the world.
In the dynamic 6-episode film Discovery Science, you will visit the cities of the future that will change our way of thinking and living.
Learn about technologies for recycling and using garbage, alternative fuel sources, environmentally friendly forms of urban transport, low-noise aircraft and much more, which, hopefully, will become ubiquitous in the very near future.
9. Forks instead of knives
Directed by Lee Fulkerson.
Despite the development of advanced medical technologies, today we feel worse and worse. Diabetes cases have increased dramatically, especially among the younger generation. Heart and cancer are the leading causes of death in the world. This is despite the billions spent on fighting them. Is there a single solution to all these problems? Got it. And this solution is as comprehensive as it is simple. So much so that many of us just don’t take it seriously. It's a transition to plant-based food. The findings are based on decades of scientific experience, observations and the most extensive field research in history.
The word “vegetarian” was never used in the film.
From the movie:
“A quarter of what you eat keeps you alive. The other three quarters support your doctor.
10. Food Corporation
Directed by Robert Kenner
Nominated for Oscar-2010, incriminating investigative film. The idea is relevant and topical. The subject is big. The implementation is not bad.
The film is about what everyone had long suspected, but was afraid to think - what is food made of?
Everyone knows that what is sold in supermarkets and catering under the guise of food, this is very conditional. The people go terrible stories about what actually make sausage, meat semi-finished products and other goodies. The filmmakers not only checked all these rumors, but found out who and how turned livestock and agriculture (on the example of one inconspicuous country called the United States) into a conveyor corporation subordinate to two or three global fast food chains, and how this affected the quality and content of food. You will learn what you would not like to know about your food.
P.S. And remember, just changing our consumption – together we change the world!
