By the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro set the energy-efficient LED lighting
Philips Lighting has announced the completion of the big four in the field of urban lighting projects in Rio de Janeiro. In anticipation of the upcoming Olympics upgrading lighting Maravilla port (Porto Maravilha) and two major highways Arco Metropolitano (Arco Metropolitano) and Elevado do Joao (Elevado do Joá) was held, which switched to energy-efficient LED-solutions. In addition, in the popular tourist destination, "the Museum of Tomorrow» (Museu do Amanhã) was established a unique light installation.
At the port 750 Maravilla LED lamps has been found to provide up to 50% compared with conventional lighting power consumption. Installed in the port LED lighting system allows for remote monitoring, control light units, as well as efficiently schedule maintenance for each lamp. Also, it can help to adjust the lighting levels according to the needs of one or another part of the port that will significantly reduce energy consumption.
In cooperation with the manufacturer and distributor of high-quality solutions for solar generation of Kyocera Solar company Philips Lighting has also implemented the lighting project to modernize highway Arco Metropolitano. The track is located around the metropolitan area of Rio de Janeiro and the municipality Itaborai connecting the port itaguaí, was equipped with 4360 lights. Each luminaire has a panel that converts sunlight into electricity.
Magistral Elevado do Joao, located in the western part of the city and connects the Largo da Barra district with São Conrado, was also equipped with new lighting solutions. On the track we installed 986 lamps for tunnels, as a result of what has been achieved effectively uniform distribution of light in the four tunnels and cut energy consumption.
Philips Lighting has also implemented a joint project with the "Museum of Tomorrow" in Rio de Janeiro. The initiative is located in the last room of the museum installation "Hut imagination» (Oca da Imaginação), designed to "carry" the visitors in the distant future, was equipped with a dynamic exclusive LED-lights.
