Founded gold museum was in 1932 and today it exhibits more than 34 thousand pieces of gold. At the moment, all things were created by more than five hundred years ago. The indigenous population of South America was rich in gold and silver. One of the most valuable pieces in the museum of gold is considered a "Raft muiskov» (The Muisca Raft), a sculpture made of gold, found at the end of the XIX-th century in one of the caves. Precise manufacture period of the almost 300-gram is no masterpiece (VI-XVI centuries).
