The concept of a transparent panoramic cab passenger aircraft
The American technology company Windspeed Technologies proposed conceptual design of a transparent panoramic cabin SkyDeck passenger aircraft at the rear of the fuselage. It is expected that the decision will be for the wealthy, who can thus be equipped private plane, and if you want to enjoy the panoramic flight are not available, if you just look out the window from a regular passenger seat. While the development of the cabin is carried out from the beginning of 2015, many specialized technology and the media paid attention to it only in the last few days.
Despite the fact that it is a conceptual solution, the company Windspeed Technologies conducted engineering studies to find out how to install an additional element to the fuselage will affect the aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft. It turned out that the drop-shaped cabin, located at the back, has no appreciable effect on the characteristics of the flight and does not lead to a waste of fuel due to air resistance. Thus SkyDeck can be mounted on many types of aircraft, including personal and business jets. The cost of the cab or the value of such a conversion is not specified.
As shown in the video, SkyDeck offers two options on how you can get in the cab: going down stairs or a small lift. Upstairs there are two places in the form of conventional passenger seats, the rotation for which a panoramic view can be operated with a special wheel. To understand where the aircraft is at the moment, it provides for a retractable tablet flight path.
Currently SkyDeck properly patented, and it received a trademark. As stated on the website Windspeed Technologies, National Business Aviation Association of the USA (NBAA) commended the development and aircraft manufacturers will be offering its customers SkyDeck installation or conversion under it.
