Back in 2007, the Department for the protection of water resources in Los Angeles, the United States determined that the reservoir Ivanhoe excessively exceeded the danger level of carcinogens formed when exposed to sunlight.





To combat this phenomenon, it was decided to pour water on the surface of the 400 thousand black plastic balls that absorb ultraviolet radiation. It is planned to complete the experiment in 2012.
