SpeechJammer - a "silencer for talkers"
It is enough to send the device to sacrifice too chatty and press as a man begins to flounder, stammer and soon stops talking altogether. The device is called the SpeechJammer («muffler speech") created by scientists from Japan.
The device is equipped with a directional microphone that records speech rights. Further, electronics plays it through the speaker with high directivity. This introduces a delay of the order of 0, 2 seconds.
The exact value of the delay device is adjusted taking into account the distance to the speaker and the time required for the sound from the target and back to the device, for which the silencer equipped with a sensor-rangefinder.
How to explain the Japanese innovators, for a normal person should hear the speech itself and the delay in a split second, introduced "gun" violates feedback vocal apparatus and the brain.
Hit by the muffler chatterbox stutters and stops, but, however, does not feel any physical discomfort, say the inventors.
Tests of the device have revealed some interesting phenomena. The Japanese report that their "gun" is more effective if the delay is constantly changing over time. Also, it turned out that reading aloud apparatus inhibits successful than spontaneous monologue. And that, unfortunately, the muffler does not affect the "meaningless sound sequences».
According to the creators, the new product will help to establish silence in libraries or contribute to an end to the fierce skirmishes during business meetings.
