Algae can create the "red tide"
Under certain conditions, the plant plankton begins to multiply in the ocean with a crazy speed, forming below the surface layer of thick algal blooms - so-called "red tide." During the day it does not look particularly attractive, but at night on some beaches where the usual variety of bioluminescent Noctiluca scintillans, «red wave" seems to be something just did otherworldly.
From this comes the algae blue glow that turns dark ocean in a giant light.
