Most Japanese nightclubs forbidden dance

After the end of World War II, the Japanese government passed a law known as Fueiho, or "Control Act of the entertainment industry." The law regulates a variety of recreational activities, including dancing.

In particular, it states that the clubs area of up to 66 m² can not qualify for a legal license for permission to hold dances in their premises. In places like Tokyo, where land is scarce and expensive commodity, the law applies to most nightclubs.

However, despite the ban until 2012, the owners of establishments still allow guests dancing until the police launched an operation to control and closure of offending clubs. Now Tokyo is quite difficult to find a facility that is suitable for dancing.
