Trained worms were beheaded, but they still remember what they have learned

Incredibly, fakt

Flatworms are tiny creatures, which usually can only be seen under a microscope. Scientists have spent two weeks in order to train them to produce their own food, moving at certain path in a petri dish. Compared with untrained worms they were easier to find food, they quickly learn in a new environment. And then trained worms (worm train - this in itself is an achievement!) Beheaded.

In flatworms heads grow again. And the worms with heads regrown skills are not lost. After the single "reminders" they once again get to the food much faster than untrained worms. So far, scientists do not understand how this is possible.
