Dutch theater with the "moving" ceiling to improve acoustics
The original facade fits perfectly into the architectural vision of the city and the concert hall is equipped with a modern system of "moving" the ceiling to create an optimal acoustic sound.
Engaged in the construction of the Dutch architectural studio UNStudio. Theatre de Stoep located in Spijkenisse. The original shaped facade does not only aesthetic, but also practical function. The fact that close to the theater is a local landmark - the 19th century mill Nooitgedacht. Designers «arched» Theatre de Stoep so that the building does not become an obstacle to the air flow, triggering mill.
The internal design of the theater no less original than the outer. Bright colors help you to navigate the lobby, which direction to go, heading for one of the two concert halls.
Rooms themselves are designed for 200 and 650 people. They are designed for dance performances, musicals, staging plays. To ensure optimal acoustics in the large hall, the architects UNStudio have developed a unique ceiling with moving elements. They can be rotated at a certain angle, creating the desired sound. On the walls are installed the same mobile elements.
