The annual festival takes place ice on the frozen river Hwacheon, about 20 km (12 miles) south of the demilitarized zone separating the two Koreas. This festival is one of the most famous and biggest festivals in South Korea, the organizers expect to see more than one million visitors. The festival lasts for three weeks, starting from January 10 this year.
