Print acoustic guitar on 3D-printer took 60 hours and 1.5 kg of plastic

Enthusiasts of the public workshop "The Foundry" from Bellingema, Washington, поделились the work of one of the members of the club of creative inventors, Jeff Kerr - acoustic guitar, a fully 3D-printed on the printer. Unusual type of translucent plastic guitar not only looks like a real, but not bad (according to witnesses) sounds. The printer made all the details guitars, other than metal - strings, tuners, frets and a metal rod, which imparts rigidity neck.

Among other interesting solutions - internal reinforcement ribs body, made in the form of fractal branching segments and circular shape around the soundhole, reinforcing its edge and part-decorating guitar as decorative elements. To create a guitar inventor required to modify an existing printer had to be placed on the table printed large part of the body and neck. Print used plastic PLA. Some particularly large part of the body were printed separately and then glued cyanoacrylate glue. Total to print took about 60 hours.

The guitar is available in View / touch for everyone in the workshop "The Foundry", and those who can not go to Bellingem can do it at home manufacturer - the inventor has provided all specifications and drawings absolutely free. It's great that 3D-printers are gradually coming into our lives, and who knows what other unexpected things we see printed in the near future.
