Poppies near the Tower
This year marks one hundred years since the outbreak of the First World War. In the UK, on this occasion organized an ambitious art installation from a sea of red ceramic poppies.
Began "planting" these poppies in summer. Anyone could buy an unlimited number of colors and place the walls of the Tower of London. In total, 888,245 was taken poppies. Last poppy was planted Harry Hayes, a thirteen-year cadet. Each poppy symbolizes the sacrifice of the first and one of the largest conflict in human history. The collected funds will be used to support several charities. The project was named «Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red».
