There is always a chance
Dietmar Eckel from Dusseldorf traveled the world and sought the fallen aircraft that were not damaged.
This is my contribution against the general panic before the flight. Look how lucky dips how many people survived the crash. There is always a chance!
Airplane Curtiss C-46 Commando, the engine broke down at departure airport Churchill in central Canada.
Fighter F-4 Corsair. The pilot survived, but the aircraft sank to the bottom.
Douglas C-47D in northwestern Canada. In 1950, 7 February dangerously landed due to bad weather. All 10 people on board survived.
On the bank of the river in Alaska plane crashed Douglas DC-4.
Cessna T50 «Bamboo Bomber» fell in the tundra in Alaska, when ran out of fuel. Passengers get to the nearest shelter on foot.
American bomber Consolidated B-24 Liberator in Papua New Guinea. The accident happened more than 70 years ago. 9 people (all crew) survived.
Dietmar visited all the continents, exploring the places where the plane crashed in the last 70 years. Their skeletons are almost grown into the landscape, have become part of the environment.
Aircraft Fairchild C-82A dropped January 16, 1965 in the deep woods of Alaska at - 40 degrees. But passengers survived in spite of what had three days without food, water and heat.
Another Douglas C-47, Canada. January, 1950, landing gear stuck in the snow. 6 people survived (out of six, of course).
In Iceland landed 24 November 1973 Douglas R4D-8. Stop the engine.
In Mexico, a small airplane crashed Grumman Albatross, where drug traffickers drove their prey. Falling, they immediately withdrew from the scene. A plane is still there.
Bristol 170 Freighter aircraft fell on the lake Biverlodzh, landing gear collapsed under ice May 30, 1956.
To find a place to crash, Eckel patiently scour the web: reading foreign forums, news, communicate with those who survived (or knew something about the survivors). Then he goes to this place and photographing aircraft. Admirable work, simply because it inspires.
Plane Avro Shackleton Pelican in the wilderness of Western Sahara, all survived.
Curtiss C-46 Commando 29 September 1977, an engine failure.
Australia, 2013. "The Red Planet».
And the photos themselves are deep and rich spirit of the time, so powerful. They are worth the effort!
