Buddhist temple on a background of azaleas

Shiofune Kanon-ji - Buddhist temple in Japan Ome City, erected more than thirteen centuries ago. The temple is located in a cozy valley blooming azaleas, surrounded by countless hills.

According to preliminary calculations, the valley grows over twenty thousand azaleas bushes. Every year, from April to May, the valley with hills turns into a bright colorful picture, which came as if from a fairy tale. The entire neighborhood is literally stitched lots of cobbled paths through which visitors walk. During flowering azaleas, here performed traditional festival of colors. As for the temple grounds, there blooms every year, about 3 thousand azaleas. And, in total, there are hundreds of varieties grown around the azaleas.
