The robot Cheetah from Boston Dynamics, which runs faster than a man appeared bipedal competitor

In Korean, the leading scientific-technical Institute ( KAIST ) developed a bipedal robot Raptor, able to run faster than a human, and only slightly inferior to the famous Cheetah (Cheetah) from Boston Dynamics. The prototype for this robot was Fossilized Raptor велоцираптор. Like its prehistoric prototype robot keeps balance when running, balancing the "tail", though the "tail" constantly rotates and is more power gyro.

Top speed was 46 Raptor km / h, just one km / h less "cheetah". Like Cheetah, Raptor while running in the lab, on the treadmill, and with support - at high speed any fall would lead to severe damage and expensive repairs prototype, so running without the support is only valid after the robot will be absolutely confident stand. Nevertheless, Raptor already demonstrates the ability to smoothly step on the obstacle height of 10 cm, although not at full speed.

KAIST - one of the world's leading developers of robots. KAIST team participates in competitions DARPA Robotics Challenge and at the last stage in December of last year took place in the final. At these competitions, the team presented polutorametrovy humanoid robot DRC-HUBO .
