Messerschmitt, but the plane

Messerschmitt. Number one in the aviation industry of Nazi Germany. 43% of the aviation of the Third Reich, and in absolute numbers - 40 000 aircraft. The first who had gone into battle fighter jet Me.262. But this - during the Third Reich, but after the war - complete desolation. Winners have imposed a complete ban on the production of aircraft in Germany. The company was bent.
Surviving companies have helped vehicles.

The first car released Messerschmitt, wore name Fend Flitzer, in honor of its founder, Fritz Fendi (Fritz Fend), designer, once worked for Willy Messerschmitt (Willy Messerschmitt), and actually saved the company of his former boss.

In the period between 1948 and 1951 years was released about 300 of tricycle car, and then came the era Kabineneroller'ov.

Who in the world have survived only a few dozen cars badged Messershmitt. But, as already mentioned, there was a fan club, through which - for a very sizable money - you can buy spare parts for cars half a century ago.

First Kabinenroller KR-175 treated one cylinder had nine horsepower, had long 2820 mm, width - 1220 mm, with very prominent fenders front wheels gave him some kind of solidity. From 1955 to 1957 these machines were produced 10,666 pieces.

Then the KR-175 is gradually replaced by a more advanced model - KR200. Despite strong competition from illustrious BMW Isetta, for 1955 alone it was able to sell as much as 12 million units, but in general they were produced 15,850 pieces.

One cylinder 10, 2 "horse", and dimensions - the same as that of the KR-175. Characteristically, these cars were very lungs: weight KR-200 does not exceed 230 kg.

After Messerschmitt in the mid-1950s to refocus on the aircraft, he Fend founded his own company Fahrzeug und Maschinenbau Regensburg (FMR), which continued to produce cars under the name Messerschmitt until the end of summer 1964. By the early 1960s, however, the demand for small cars began to wane as the ride on them was not prestigious.

The latest machine series KR-200 Roadster came off the production line on August 17, 1964. In 16 hours and 34 minutes.

It must be noted, however, that the construction of Messerschmitt had a mass of different advantages. This is not surprising, given that many of the technical findings Messershmitt aviation unit were used in the production of these cars.
There were imitators. In particular, the British company Tritech still offers up Kabinenroller'ov, although equipped with modern engines.
