Nouadhibou - a place where jackals eaten off
"Nouadhibou is a place where jackals eaten off, and yet it is the graveyard of ships." - Writes in his portfolio Ian Smith, who took spectacular pictures abandoned ship in the bay of Nouadhibou in Mauritania.
Perhaps this bay is the largest ship graveyard in the world.
When Jan went to Mauritania in 2008, he had plenty of difficulties. Nobody believed that he had come to capture on film the ships. Smith was arrested morokkanskimi soldiers, accused of espionage, but in the end all is well resolved and he still made it to the Gulf. Under the cut a few of his works from the graveyard of ships.
