Exceptions were brothers Schmidberger from Austria. They made armor for the Vatican Swiss Guards in their own forge.
For the manufacture of armor they require some 120 hours. What they produce is virtually indistinguishable from the original five hundred years ago.
Fifteen generations of a family of brothers Schmidberger engaged in blacksmithing and Georg Johann continued this tradition.
