Inhabited "Truffle"

Unusual architectural experiment conducted Spanish Studio Ensamble Estudio. They "grow" house, which was named "truffle" in earthen pit on one of the rocks on the coast of Spain.

The authors would like it to "grow" the house, creating conditions where the very nature of work on the form. At first life was dug pit. Then bales of hay formed the housing interior space of the future house. After that, everything was covered with a thick layer of concrete. The amorphous mass of concrete has adopted internal properties of earth excavation: shape, color, texture. Concrete "truffle" was like a block of stone or boulder.

Cleared and leveled the ground around the pit, "truffle" was almost ready.

Then he settled in the house of the first tenant - Paulina, which gradually has consumed hay, freeing him from the interior space (Pauline, by the way, was there for about a year and left his temporary home for 300 pound cow).

Concrete completely dried out and showed excellent properties in strength even being reinforced. Taking the form of a complex wild, it turned into concrete indistinguishable from the natural material.

The atmosphere in the house modest, but there are all the necessary conditions for life: electricity and running water.

And from the "truffle" excellent views of the sea.
