Scanner-ring reads aloud text for the visually impaired
In the Media Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have developed a device FingerReader , is a compact scanner that recognizes text and reads it aloud. This is a high-tech way to help visually impaired people to read printed texts.
When the finger should be along the line, the video stream from the camera is analyzed, after which the device reads aloud voice like an electronic voice of Stephen Hawking. When approaching the end of line device warns the owner of the vibrating, as in the knocking down on the adjacent line.
Also, the device can operate automatic translator! Imagine that you have just conducted a finger on the text in a foreign language, and tell you what is written there. Of course, the device is not yet complete and is probably the prototype.
