Lukashenko has banned government officials to buy expensive official cars
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on March 12 "On regulation of the purchase of official cars." The document establishes restrictions on the purchase of official cars by legal entities, arrears, and also limits the value of the machinery.

Legal persons have the right to purchase on a reimbursable basis, including leasing contracts, service cars only in the absence in the last three calendar months prior to the date of purchase (contract) of arrears on wages for the consumed energy by compulsory payments to the budget, the state budget and extra-budgetary funds, loans obtained under the guarantee of the government, as well as under guarantees issued by the local executive and administrative bodies. This does not apply only to the legal persons who have been granted a payment deferral of repayment.
The cost of the service car, purchased by public bodies, public entities, business entities in the statutory funds of which more than 50% of shares (shares) owned by the Republic, its territorial administrative units, as well as agricultural enterprises with the state share in the authorized capital shall not be exceed the equivalent of 25 thousand. euros, taking into account customs duties, unless there is a special presidential decree.
For exceeding the established value of the acquired official car, as well as for its acquisition in the presence of arrears provided for the imposition of the head of a state body or a legal entity a fine of 600 to 1,000 basic units (about 200 thousand. Russian rubles.)

The decree will come into force one month after its official publication.
