Pillars of weathering on the plateau of Man-Pupu-Ner (18 photos)

Pillars of weathering (Mansiysk Boobies) - a unique geological monument in the Trinity-Pechora region of the Komi Republic in the plateau Man-Pupu-Ner (in the language of Mansi means "Little Mountain idols"), between the rivers Pechora and Ilych. Geological monument represents the seven pillars in height from 30 to 42 meters. The pillars were formed as a result of the destruction of ancient mountains, of which for many thousands of years have been eroded and washed all the soft rock. Now they have a fanciful shape, taking, as the place of inspection, the various forms. With pillars associated with numerous legends, in the past these grand stone sculptures were objects of worship Mansi, but rise to the Man-Pupu-Ner (Manpupuner) was the greatest sin.
