Vasyugan bog - the largest bog in the northern hemisphere and one of the biggest in the world, are located in Western Siberia, between the rivers Ob and Irtysh. Interestingly, 75% of the modern area were swamped over the past 500 years, and now Vasyugan swamp - a huge area length from west to east - 573 km, from north to south - 320 km, within which are scattered almost 800 thousand large and small lakes and reservoirs! Many small and medium-sized rivers originate precisely Vasyugan swamps.



Where many species of animals and birds, including such rare in our time, as the reindeer, golden eagle, white-tailed eagle, osprey, the gray shrike, peregrine falcon. There are sable and mink, otter and wolverine. Well, of course, a huge number of wild cranberries, blueberries and cloudberries.



Vasyugan marshes - an important element of the global ecology. After all, here under the water surface, there are huge reserves of peat (about 2% of the world), and peat is a kind of a natural filter for the atmosphere of our planet. It connects the free carbon, thus reducing the volume to form carbon dioxide.
