Angel Falls
Angel Falls is the highest waterfall in the world. His height - 978 meters. Waterfall originates from the top of a flat mountain Auyan Tepuy and is in remote jungles of Venezuela. Hiking trails to this place not suschestvuet.
The waterfall was discovered in the early XX century explorer Ernesto Sanchez La Cruz, but was not widely known until the flight of James Angel. First saw Angel Falls in 1933, when the territory flew in search rudy.
Four years later, Angel flew past the waterfall with three passengers on board, including his wife. The aircraft was damaged, and Angel had to put him to the peak of the mountain Auyan-tepui, top of the waterfall. Monoplane "Flamingo" landed on the swampy land at the top of the waterfall and stayed there for 33 years until he was pulled out vertoletom.
Angel and his three companions were able to go down the waterfall and back to civilization in 11 days. In honor of this heroic event waterfall was named after the pilot. Currently, aircraft Angel is in the museum in Maracay, and on top of it is accurate kopiya.
