Isimila is located 20 km from the Tanzanian town of Iringa (the third largest city after Dar-ec-Salaam and Mwanza). Now this place is considered the most important archaeological sites in Africa. In the village Isimila the end of the 1950s, archaeologists have discovered one of the most significant finds of the Stone Age. Tools found at the site, made by people from 60 000 to 100 000 years ago. Impressive scenery around - small canyons and pillars of red sandstone.
