Stress at work leads to breast cancer

In Russia, breast cancer affects about 300,000 women. Among the causes of the disease doctors call and constant stress
Russian oncologists say that the incidence of breast cancer is increasing worldwide, but in our country is growing more and mortality, as there is no national screening program. International experience shows that once the country entered on a national scale, early diagnosis of any disease, mortality is immediately reduced.

Contribute to the development of breast cancer later generations, the lack of children, failure to breastfeed, overeating, consumption of excess fat in the body. Only 10% of cases are associated with a hereditary factor.

Swedish and British scientists have added to this is another risk factor - stress at work. In a study they conducted, attended by 36 thousand working women aged 30 to 50 years. In the period from 1990 to 2004 of 167 of them was diagnosed - with breast cancer. The researchers took into account factors such as weight, age, number of children and the level of alcohol and came to the conclusion that chronic stress increases the risk of breast cancer by 30%.

It is not known what is the mechanism of the effect of stress on the development of cancer. Presumably, the constant tension contributes to increased levels of the hormone estrogen, which is a risk factor for breast cancer.

Another reason may be the abuse of alcohol and unhealthy lifestyles that lead women to cope with constant stress.
