Experts have calculated how much will have to spend on the Easter basket in 2024

What to eat for Easter This year the Easter basket will rise in price. This is quite justified: the economy of Ukraine and the aggressor countries have sunk due to significant monetary and material losses.

According to estimates of the Ukrainian Institute of Agrarian Economics, traditional pasta, homemade sausage, lard, beau, eggs, butter, cheese and horseradish on average will cost a family of 4 people in 1420 UAH, or 36 CU. So, in 2023, such a set cost 1208 UAH.

The Russian consumer will spend about 40 USD on a similar product set.



Kulich and meat products Go to the market, try and choose! Central to the Easter basket is the festive pasta. This is the symbol of the bread that the Savior broke at the Last Supper and distributed to his apostles.

In Ukraine, the cost of domestic pasta in 2024 will be 4.5 USD per 1 kg. The amount is calculated based on the traditional recipe: 6 eggs, 700 g of flour, 300 g of milk, 150 g of butter, 400 g of sugar, 200 g of raisins and 40 g of yeast.

In a neighboring state, one kilogram of kulich will cost 626 rubles or 6.7 USD.



Meat products - sausages, smoked meats and lard - are the most expensive Easter treats. On the Ukrainian market, the average cost of a kilogram of beef will be 12 U.E., homemade sausage - 10 U.S., lard - 5.5 U.S.

Kilograms of Russian elderberry will cost consumers 13.9 USD, homemade sausages 10.6 USD. Salo costs 7 u.u. for 1 kg.



Easter treats: eggs, butter and cheese Where is without dyes! For a dozen Ukrainian eggs have to get out of the wallet 1.7 c.u. Residents of a neighboring state will be able to buy the same set for 1.35 CU.

A pack of butter will cost Ukrainians an average of 1.9 USD. 500g hard cheese - 6.30 CU Similar Russian products in 2024 will cost 1.95 USD and 6.95 USD respectively.

You can also put horseradish in the basket. Unusual choice, isn't it? This product symbolizes the abundance, fullness and strong roots of our faith that a person acquires through faith in God. In Ukraine and Russia, 250 g of snacks are symbolic 0.6 c.u.



Traditionally, the church does not recommend bringing alcohol to the service. Church red wine is an exception. It symbolizes the blood of the Savior. However, from parish to parish, these orders differ. It is better to ask the father in advance if you can put a strong drink in the basket.

A bottle of Kagora for Ukrainian and Russian consumers will cost an average of 3.5 USD.

The ban applies to blood sausage, vegetables and fruits, sweets, pepper and salt. You can not sanctify worldly values: money, jewelry, jewelry and purses, car and apartment keys.



What to eat at Easter: other prohibitions You should not put scissors and knives in the basket. With knives, though, it's not so clear. In some regions of Ukraine, they are still holy, and then cut the pasca. But in Podolia and Volhynia for this can be suspected of links with evil spirits!

It is important to calculate the amount of food you will bring to the temple. Add only what the family eats during Easter. Do not throw away consecrated products under any circumstances! It's a big sin. Better give them to the needy.

Egg shells, crumbs and stale pieces of pasta should be buried. You can't throw stickers off your eggs. Better burn them. And if the Easter basket is completely dilapidated, it should also be put to fire.
