Why put a bag on a broom and how it should help in cleaning, tip clever grandmother

In the era of technological progress, when the modern house is becoming more and more like an exhibition of unique robotics, and not a living room, we have not learned to do without all sorts of brooms. Therefore, the new broom regularly takes its honorable place in the nightstand near the garbage can.

How often should I buy a new broom? Wise (or superstitious?) people say that it is necessary to change the broom every year because it collects not only garbage and dust, but also negative energy, from which it is recommended to get rid of in time. You should stick to the rule: you bought a new broom - be sure to throw out the old one. People say that two brooms in a house means two owners or a couple of housewives. Who needs that?!

Every hostess wants a new broom to perfectly grind and serve for a long time, and he crumbles, then breaks. I remember my grandmother's broom was big, thick and soft. Now I realize that it seemed huge to me because I was small, but it was really a pleasure to sweep them. Immediately begs the conclusion: before the brooms did, as they say, on conscience.

I agree that in the recent past, the quality of home brooms was monitored better. Often a new broom was knitted with their own hands. It was made from sorghum grown in its own garden. I don’t know where my grandmother got the seeds of this cereal, but a long bed was set aside to grow it. The ripe stems of the culture were cut, dried and terebed. The lower part of the plants was usually thrown away, and the upper part was let on brooms. The quality and strength of the product depended only on the mastery of the hostess.

These days, a new broom is easier to buy than to grow sorghum and tie a broom out of it (unless you plan on doing it on an industrial scale, of course). Your choice should be taken responsibly if you want the tool to last forever.

How to choose a broom Before buying the goods must be carefully examined. The wide part of the broom should be thick and moderately flexible, and the handle should be tight, but not too thin. The threads with which the pomelo is tied must be wide, durable and not prone to abrasion. You need to take a closer look at the thick stems on the handle, because then it will quickly crumble. But the secret of durability of the new broom lies not only in its strength, although it is one of the main indicators of the quality of the object, an important role in this is played by preliminary preparation for operation and proper care of the tool.

To the new broom gently sweeps, does not break and served for a long time, before the first use it is recommended to soak in boiling water for several hours, and then shake off and dry. Try to do this procedure with your broom, even if it is not entirely new, and you will be able to see for yourself the effectiveness of this method.

It is also recommended to periodically rinse the broom under the tap. Water will wash away the accumulated negative, clean the working part of dirt and protect it from excessive drying, as a result of which its branches can become very fragile.

And also my grandmother put on a new broom leaky stocking, which was replaced by tights, first ordinary, and then capron. It did not look very aesthetic, but it helped to protect the tool from premature wear. Also, the old woman dressed the snowstorm in unusual outfits in the case when it was necessary to collect webs or dust at the corners and from the carpet, which traditionally hung on the wall.

If the stocking is sprinkled with water, then the broom became an indispensable device during wet cleaning. By the way, with the use of such an improved device, it was easier to remove the fur of pets and hair from the floorboards and paths.

I recently read on the Internet that a new broom needs to be stuffed into a plastic bag to keep it clean longer. Great idea! I won’t even get a new broom out of the packaging!

What do you say about that?
