If 1 + 4 = 5, then 2 + 5 = 7, not 12. But if you add 5 (from the first example) and 7 (from the second example), you really get 12. Now look at the third example, where 3 + 6 = 21, although after the equal sign should be 9. To get 21, you need to add 12 to 9. So, when solving an example, we take into account the previous example. Therefore, to solve the last example, you need 8 + 11 + 21 = 19 + 21 = 40.
If the sum of three horses is 30, then one such animal hides 30 ÷ 3 = 10. Then the horseshoes in the second example will be 18 – 10 = 8. There's 4 hidden behind a pair of horseshoes. In this case, look at the third example, where a pair of boots is 4 – 2 = 2. And so behind one boot hidden one, behind the horse - a dozen, and behind the horseshoe - two. Then 1 + 10 × 2 = 1 + 20 = 21.
If the top two lines belonged to the third, they would have an equal sign. If not, then the first lines have nothing to do with it. Therefore, we have only 1 + 1 × 0 + 1 = 1 + 0 + 1 = 2. It's too easy if you don't invent too much.
