Parade of 746 electric vehicles - new world record set in the Netherlands

The run between the Dutch cities of Helmond and Eindhoven involved 746 electric vehicles. The record has not yet been officially recognized by representatives of the Guinness Book of Records, but the number of participants significantly exceeds the indicator of a similar event in Berlin - there in 2015, 577 units of electrical equipment came on the road.

For arrival was allocated a section of road length of 3.6 kilometers. The movement of other vehicles during the electric run was stopped. A variety of electric cars took part in the parade, from luxury Teslas to the more utilitarian Nissan and Renault. In addition to them, electric buses, trucks, motorcycles and Segways came to the road. There was also a solar-powered car. Even the flight was taken from an electric drone launched from Helmond.

All money raised during the charity run will be donated to fund education programs for children from disadvantaged areas. A similar parade of electric vehicles will be held in California.

The Netherlands is one of the world leaders in the use of electric transport. The government actively subsidizes not only the production and purchase of electric vehicles, but also the development of related infrastructure. In 2035, the authorities intend to completely ban the operation, purchase and sale of cars running on fossil fuels.
