As I sealed up the crack between the wall and the bathroom! Don't repeat my mistakes...

The problem of the gap between bath and wall is familiar to everyone. Even the tiny seam entails a lot of unpleasant consequences: a nasty smell of dampness, mold, stains, puddles, and in the end unhappy neighbors, which flooded.

The most effective method of dealing with this phenomenon is to seal the gap and forget about the problem.

We will discuss a few simple ways how to seal the gap between bathtub and wall. These methods will overcome even the most fragile shoulders!

The gap between the bath and stenocephala solve
  1. Border tape
With a quick and affordable way for those who are planning to deal with small gaps. Part of the tape includes fungicides, so the mold problem will solve itself. The tape glue on clean, dry surface by removing the protective strip from the underside. However, the professionals do not trust the glue, applied by the manufacturer, therefore recommended to additionally use liquid nails.

  2. Sanitary silicone sealant
This method is also suitable for very narrow slits. For best results, the joints cleaned and dried, and then applied a special sealant from the container. And don't forget that after using the sealant the room needs a good airing, because it stands out drying acetic acid, which has a rather unpleasant smell.

Useful: the seam will be more smooth, if you use masking tape to isolate the tiles.

  3. Polyurethane foam
This, in our opinion, the easiest way for grouting. It is only necessary to clean and dry the surface, then apply the foam from the container in the gap between the tub and the wall. The material will expand and fill all available space. Then the material must be let to dry thoroughly. And don't forget that the foam must be water-resistant!

  4. Cement mortar
This is a great and effective way for large gaps! As before, the surface is cleaned, but not dried. Then prepare a special formwork, which will not allow the solution to fall down. Wetting the area of the gap, apply the solution and leave it to dry. This method is quite unsightly, so we recommend over a solution to stick the border tape or ceramic tile.

  5. Ceramic border
And last, perhaps the most aesthetically pleasing option than to seal the gap between bath and wall is a ceramic border. This border sits on a special tile adhesive. Time and effort will have to put a lot more, but the result will exceed all expectations!

Decided on method? Then go ahead! A little effort and voila — in the bathroom fresh, beautiful and cozy!
