How I closed the gap between the wall and the bathroom

The gap between the bathroom and the wall is familiar to everyone. Even the smallest seam entails a lot of unpleasant consequences: a nasty smell of dampness, mold, stains, puddles and eventually disgruntled neighbors who flooded.

The most effective method of combating this phenomenon is to close the gap and forget about the problem.

The gap between the bathroom and the wall
  1. Ribbon
The fastest and most affordable way for those who plan to deal with small gaps. The tape includes fungicides, so the problem of mold will solve itself. The tape is glued to a dry clean surface, removing the protective strip on the lower side. However, professionals do not really trust the glue applied by the manufacturer, because they recommend additional use of liquid nails.

  2. Sanitary silicone sealant
This method is also suitable for the narrowest crevices. To achieve the best effect, the joints are pre-cleaned and dried, and then a sealant from a special cylinder is applied. And do not forget that after using a sealant, the room must be well ventilated, since acetic acid is released when it is drying, which has a rather unpleasant smell.

Useful.: the seam will be smoother if you use paint tape to insulate the tiles.

  3. Foaming
This, in our opinion, is the easiest way to seal the seams. It is only necessary to clean and dry the surface, then apply the foam from the balloon to bathroom-wall. The material will expand and fill all available space. After that, the material should be allowed to dry well. And don't forget that the foam should be moisture resistant!

  4. Cement mortar
This is a great and effective way to create big gaps! As before, the surface is cleaned, but not dried. Then prepare a special formwork that will not allow our solution to fall down. After wetting the gap area, apply the solution and leave it until completely dry. This method is quite unaesthetic, so we recommend gluing a curb tape or ceramic tiles over the solution.

  5. Ceramic curb
And the last, perhaps the most aesthetic option, How to close the gap between the bathroom and the wall - it's a ceramic curb. Such a curb sits on a special tile glue. Time and effort will have to apply much more, but the result will exceed all expectations!

You got a method? Then go! A little effort and voila - the bathroom is fresh, beautiful and cozy!
