The Village Of Eze

Village of Eze (Eze village) is located in the mountains near nice on the road in Monaco. Surprisingly, but about this place know not all the French, while the medieval village of Eze is a real pearl of the French côte d'azur.

The village is incredibly old – it was founded in 600 BC, when long-settled local shepherds. Some historians believe that the name of the village associated with the name of the Egyptian goddess ISIS, while others believe that it comes from the Latin visia or Avisium – as in ancient Rome called observation points in the mountains. And in fact, the fortress built in the times of Caesar, like the eagle's nest perched on a cliff height of 427 m above the sea level.

Another attraction of the ez is built by Swedish Prince Guillaume a small private residential known today as the castle of Eze (Eze Chateau). The rustic house with a tower and a clock on it regularly the rest of the Swedish Royal family. Currently, the castle was sold and it opened a luxury hotel with 10 rooms.

From the castle you can take a walk on the trail of Friedrich Nietzsche ( Chemin Frederic Nietzsche ), down to the sea. The famous philosopher was first held in 1883, then lived in AZ for 18 years and writing in the village many of his significant works, including "thus spoke Zarathustra".
