The whole truth about the Titanic
The construction of the Titanic began on 31 March 1909 shipbuilding company "Harland and Wolff" in Belfast, Ireland and launched on 31 may 1911. The status and reliability of the Titanic was provided by 15 watertight bulkheads in the hold, creating 16 watertight compartments. The first couple of days of travel have passed for a ship more than successful successfully, the ship was filled with glamor and glitz, nothing boded trouble, the ocean was calm that betrayed the team even more confidence that they have nothing to worry about.
On the night of 14 April the sea kept calm, but from time to time you could see icebergs. They are not a bit embarrassed... Almost 12 at night with the Observatory I was told that straight ahead of the iceberg! What happened to the crew and passengers know everything. The “unsinkable” Titanic could not withstand the water element and slowly but surely went to the bottom. Many factors turned this day against the famous ship.
The official conclusion of the Commission that investigated the disaster, concluded that the steel used for the hull plating on Titanic was rather poor quality, it made it brittle at low temperatures. If applied sheathing of high quality steel with very low sulphur content, it would significantly soften the force of impact. Perhaps in this case, the Titanic could have been saved or, at least, this would allow him to remain afloat during the time necessary for salvation. Despite warnings about icebergs, the captain slowed down and didn't think to change the route, so he was sure of unsinkable ship.
The captain did not fulfill properly their duties and were not sure that all the boats were filled with people. The result is saved a small number of people. On the ship was not red rescue rockets, signaling the occurred disaster. Confidence in the power of the unsinkable ship was so high that no one even did not occur to equip the Titanic with these missiles. Seventy-three years lay the ship in its deep underwater grave as one of the innumerable evidences of human carelessness. The word "Titanic" has become synonymous with the doomed to failure adventure, of heroism, of cowardice, of turmoil and adventure.
