The Americans figured out how to deprive the gadgets dependent on battery

Scientists from the University of Washington provided a wireless communication system between two devices, it doesn't need batteries. The results of a study published in the report of the ACM SIGCOMM 2013 conference, which took place a few days ago in Hong Kong.

The essence of innovation is in the use of radio waves from other sources, where a huge amount in the surrounding space, as a means of transmission and source of energy instead of radiating its own signal.
A device that transmits the information to the established American system, will either reflect or absorb accidental passing therethrough the radio waves. Absorption of radiation means 0, and the reflection, causing a wave falls on the receiving device — 1.

In turn, the receiving device can, using the energy of the electromagnetic waves to transmit information. In their tests, the engineers used to transfer information waves of the TV broadcast, but you can use wave from base stations of mobile communication.

For the transmission of information used two apparatus, the size of which is comparable to a credit card equipped with an antenna and placed apart at a distance of approximately 76 cm in provedenii tests on the street and at a distance of 46 cm in the experiment inside the building. Scientists have achieved a data transfer rate of 1 Kbps.
