The unusual swing bridge over river hull

The unusual decision came from the authorities of the County of Yorkshire in the North of England in the construction of a bridge across a navigable river hull. The conventional concept of a movable bridge decided to replace the swivel design. Ie a new bridge form a comma "tail" which is the passage that connects the banks of the river, and a round base that is directly adjacent to the right side, has two levels and serves to accommodate the specific platform and the rotating mechanism.

This part of the design also serves as a counterweight and to rotate around its axis it can use single and dual wheels, which rests on a circular concrete platform with a diameter of 15 meters.

The mobility of the span supported by wheels that move at a special arc-shaped rail that is laid over the water at some distance from the main platform. The mechanism causes the radio, and by the time the transformation itself takes about two minutes on duty closes the receiving area on the left Bank and the bridge starts to move, slowly pressing her passage to the right Bank and almost completely releasing the riverbed.
