The special court-"ARKS" will be installed in coastal areas of Japan to protect the local population from the impact of the tsunami. About this informed the Ministry of land, infrastructure and transport of Japan.
After earthquake at 9.0 points in March last year, many residents of the coastal settlements did not have time to escape the tsunami that struck the northeast coast of Japan. A large part of those who managed could flee from tidal waves on the roofs of buildings and other high places, were cut off from the outside world as within a few days after the tsunami, the coastal areas were flooded.
In this regard, the Japanese authorities want to provide for additional types of rescue in case of recurrence of strong tsunamis in particular, the creation of "ARKS".





Special rescue lubki can accommodate 20 to 50 persons and will have on Board a supply of food and other vital things.
"ARKS" will be installed in area schools and nursing homes. Having received a warning about the threat of a tsunami, people can take refuge in a rescue boat and carry it a few days. "The ark" at the same time will be resistant to collisions with debris, which usually carries with it a coming tsunami wave.
