Local water that is so saturated with mineral salts, has a huge concentration of sulfate, magnesium, calcium, sodium, silver and titanium. Due to the high density of minerals in the water to magaliti only micro-organisms; fish does not live here. This natural anomaly — the reason for the appearance of colored tanks. The most saturated colors are in the summer months when the spots formed on the surface of the lake, painted in yellow and green.

With the onset of summer season mineral water almost hardens, giving the opportunity to walk around Spotted lake. But due to the fact that, formally, the pond is private property of the canadian Indians, the access of tourists to the surface was forbidden, and the borders, enclosed by barbed wire. To monitor natural anomaly near the highway constructed a special observation deck and installed information boards. Theoretically, walking on mineral formations is possible to obtain special permission from the elder of a local tribe, but in practice such aspirations were rarely successful.
