The many ways in which Mars can kill You

As the prospect of a permanent colony on Mars will become closer and closer with every new press release from the Mars One project, it may be worthwhile to recall that every person who moved permanently to Mars will most likely die untimely and painful death.
And that's what may be the most likely cause, if the right to exclude from consideration various technical problems.

First, the Martian colonists will fry in the radiation before set foot on the threshold of his new home. Technically, the radiation during the journey from Earth to Mars is not higher than the capacity of the human body, but the Sun is a great, unpredictable mass radioactive destruction.
The only solar flare during the trip to Mars will send a stream of high-energy particles that penetrate every screening that we can do at the moment. In fact, they will fry any creature not protected by the planetary magnetic fields.

Later, on the surface of Mars, the colonists need to find a method to deal with a reduced gravitational field of the planet. Mars has only a third of earth's gravity, and in the long term, this factor can be deadly. All aspects of our biological structure – from heart rhythm to the strength of our bones, associated with gravity.

If you remove that power, we begin to lose bone marrow and our heart will not work properly, and the vestibular apparatus fails. That is why the astronauts do not stay on the ISS longer than is absolutely necessary. The effects of this kind of "space sickness" on Mars will be reduced compared to the microgravity of outer space, but in the long run are likely to cause terminal health problems.
