The ancient mystery of the jungle: huge stone balls

In the late 30-ies of the workers who were clearing the jungle in the Delta of Costa Rican river Dikis for the plantation of bananas was found in a swamp a huge granite bowls. They were practically submerged in moss, some had carried away the river silt.

The largest came in diameter up to three meters and weighing close to 16 tons. And the smallest was no bigger than a child's ball, with only ten centimeters in diameter. Balls were singly and in groups from 3 up to fifty pieces, sometimes made of geometric shapes. One group of balls aligned along the line that was oriented to magnetic North.
Measurements displayed that the balls are made quite accurately: deviations from spherical shape are the most large of only 50 mm. the Surface of granite is polished smooth. But when, why, and who made the stone balls? Locals say that the ancient Indians possessed the now lost secret special fluid that has softened granite, turned it into clay. After that the Indians seemed to have fashioned from "soft granite" balls of all sizes, and after some time, the stone hardened again.
