Aurora - a device for controlling dreams

The electronic headband, equipped with various sensors and LED indication, according to the developer, allows you to immerse yourself in the state of lucid dreams. Aurora is a headband equipped with electrodes to remove electroencephalogram, accelerometer, heart rate sensor, LEDs, Bluetooth LE wireless adapter and battery. The device is paired with a special mobile application for Android or iOS.

The system analyzes brain waves, movements and heart rate to determine sleep phases. Depending on the obtained indicators, the intensity, color and nature of the glow of LEDs change, and various sounds are generated through the accompanying mobile application. This, according to the developer, allows you to influence the storyline of the dream. The software algorithms necessary for EEG analysis are laid directly in the headband. This with some restrictions allows you to use the bandage separately, without being tied to a smartphone or tablet. The Aurora has a fully wireless design; the battery should last a few weeks.

The collected data is accumulated in the mobile application. The function of the “intelligent” alarm clock is provided: it will wake up at the most appropriate moment, which “will allow you to feel cheerful and rested.” The social component is important. Thanks to the open API, third-party developers will be able to create various programs for the Aurora platform, for example, for “multi-user lucid dreams” or “immersion in a certain environment.”
